5.0-magnitude quake hits Mid-Indian Ridge

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted Mid-Indian Ridge at 0016 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 9.80 km, was initially determined to be at 36.8276 degrees south latitude and 78.7286 degrees east longitude.
