Moderate quake hits near the east coast of Honshu, Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 14:59:37 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 40.40 km, was initially determined to be at 38.7616 degrees north latitude and 142.1413 degrees east longitude.
