5.8 M earthquake hits NE. Afghanistan

Earthquake tremors of 5.8 magnitude hit Hindu Kush region, located in northeastern Afghanistan at around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, according to the website of U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake, which lasted for over ten seconds according to witness, was strongly felt in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan.

Possible casualties are still not known at the moment, while many residents in Kabul, for fear of aftershocks, have come out of their homes to seek refuge.
