An elite club in Hefei, capital of Anhui Province was exposed to serve dishes made with peacock and wild goose – animals under the state protection -- to government officials, today's Xin'an Evening News reported.

The club inside a community of villas has no obvious sign and is frequented by the rich people. A waiter said their club only serves senior officials and businessmen, and he told the reporter to leave.

But the reporter already found braised peacock and wild goose in the menu, priced at 1,680 yuan (US$273) and 358 yuan (US$58) respectively.

Clubs in nearby villa communities also hired famous chefs to prepare lavish dinners for government officials to avoid public supervision.
