One international school in Beijing's northeastern Shunyi District recently spent US$5 million on building a double-dome tent with a ceiling being able to filter out small smog particles.

The deluxe tent, featuring one tennis court and one sports complex, was intended to become a recreational center for the students, when engaging in their outdoor activities becomes impossible on the city's smog-stricken days.

To maintain its air quality, guaranteed by three layers of filtration equipment, no one is allowed to smoke inside the tent. Beijing has been shrouded in smog for several consecutive days over the past two weeks.
