The Eco-Forum Global Annual Conference Guiyang 2014 will kick off on July 10. A forum, known as the Big Data International Annual Conference, will also be held on the same day. Many political leaders, experts and entrepreneurs will attend.

"Guizhou will start a big data industry alliance at the forum. Elites will discuss new commercial opportunities in the big data industry, investment hot spots and Guizhou's big data development," said Li Baofang, director of the provincial economy and information committee, at a press conference for the annual conference on Wednesday.

National and provincial political leaders; experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and entrepreneurs from Baidu, Alibaba, Intel and Huawei will all attend the forum, according to Li.

Since the Promotion Conference for Guizhou-Beijing Big Data Industry Development was successfully held in Beijing in March, a series of investment promotion activities have brought Guizhou 153 projects in the big data industry, with investment totaling 164 billion yuan ($26.39 billion).

"The achievements show that Guizhou's big data industry is developing in a good direction. A good atmosphere has taken shape," Li added.
