A set of 18-meter-long electric buses are undergoing a test in Fuwaidajie Transit Hub in Beijing, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015.

Nicknamed "electric catfish", the new buses have a bullet-like head with a larger front window. They are almost two times longer than the traditional bus and have a passenger capacity of 147.

The number of seats has increased from the traditional 26 to 36, although the layout of the seats remains the same.
