New scheme for more green buildings introduced in Singapore

A benchmarking scheme "Green Mark 2015", with focus on addressing sustainability in a more balanced and holistic manner, was announced by Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA) at the opening ceremony of Singapore Green Building Week (SGBW) 2015 on Wednesday.
BCA introduced the new scheme to commemorate the 10th year for the launching of Green Mark. Developed for new non-residential buildings, the plan has been structured into four main sections, namely, climatic response, building energy performance, resource stewardship as well as smart and healthy building.
A bonus section on advanced green building efforts is included to spur efforts beyond requirements.
Key benefits for building occupants and users include a stronger emphasis on indoor environmental quality in relation to enhanced health and well-being, and buildings that are equipped with smart controls and analytics to assist in the management and optimization of building resources.
