No casualties have been reported after a 5.2-magnitude earthquake in northwest China's Qinghai Province on Monday, local authorities said.
The earthquake hit a Tibetan prefecture in Qinghai at 6:04 p.m. Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The epicenter is located at 34.4 degrees north latitude and 98.2 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of about 9 km.
The epicenter is in a sparsely populated area and there have been no casualties reported, according to the local publicity department.
