Some Siberian ibexes, also known as the Capra sibirica, have been spotted recently at a nature reserve in Aksu, China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Aksu Prefecture has seen a remarkable increase in the number of Siberian ibexes over the past few years due to multiple measures that local authorities has adopted to protect the species.

The Siberian ibex live mostly in areas of steep slopes and rocky scree with an altitude of 3,500 to 6,000 meters. They are seen in central and northern Asia.
