From left: Dita from Indonesia, Xiao Xin from China, Mary Robinson from Ireland, Arme from Senegal, John Holmes, UN Under-Secretary-General, Bekele Geleta from the Red Cross, Mariuse from Netherland, Josette Sheeran from the World Food Program, Joseph from Kenya, Jet Li from the One Foundation and Idaou from Greenland.

Mary said young people should participate in campaigns organized by NGOs like Oxfam. She also said students should organize themselves to put pressure on politicians and make their voices heard.

Josette was not yet ready to give me back my corn and asked if she could borrow it so she could show it to more people! Although I had lost my little piece of corn I was pleased that it had been passed from my little megaphone to Josette's high decibel loudspeaker!

There were some other details: Before Josette answered my question, her first sentence was "Wow, you must be really proud of your country?"

"I am," I said. I was really glad that she gave me the chance to say it out loud on such an occasion.
