The dike at the Changkai section of the Fuhe River burst late Monday. The local Flood Control and Drought Relief Office says the opening in the dike has expanded to 400 meters Tuesday. More than 1,200 people have been rescued after the Fuhe River burst its bank and flooded parts of Fuzhou City. The floods are the worst for 50 years and over 25 million people have been affected.
