Bai Lichen

Born in January 1941, ethnic Hui, native of Lingyuan, Liaoning Province.

Graduated from Agricultural Engineering Department of Shenyang Agricultural College, specialized in agricultural mechanization; began to work in August 1964; joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in April 1971.

Member of the 13th to 17th CPC Central Committee; vice-chairman of the 9th to 11th CPPCC National Committee.

1960-1964: Studied in Shenyang Agricultural College;

1964-1968: Technician at Yingkou Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, Liaoning Province;

1968-1972: Sent to work in the May Seventh Cadre School and the countryside;

1972-1980: Clerk of Organization Department of the CPC Yingkou Municipal Committee, and deputy section chief of Personnel Bureau of Yingkou City;

1980-1983: Deputy secretary and secretary of the Suburban District of the CPC Yingkou Municipal Committee;

1983-1984: Deputy secretary of the CPC Yingkou Municipal Committee, and mayor of Yingkou City;

1984-1985: Secretary of the CPC Panjin Municipal Committee, and assistant to governor of Liaoning Province;

1985-1986: Standing Committee member of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee, and vice-governor of Liaoning Province;

1986-1997: Deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and vice-chairman, acting chairman and chairman of the region;

1997-1998: Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives;

1998-2000: Vice-chairman and member of Leading Party Members' Group of the 9th CPPCC National Committee, secretary of Leading Party Members' Group and council director of All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives;

2000-: Vice-chairman and member of the Leading Party Members' Group of the 10th and 11th CPPCC National Committee; member of the Leading Party Members' Group and council director of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.
