Sino-Foreign Joint Venture Enterprise Law

Formally enforced on July 8, 1979, the Sino-Foreign Joint Venture Enterprise Law was China’s first law covering overseas economic relations, and also the first corporate legislation relating to foreign funding since the beginning of reform and opening-up. It set out the legal basis for China’s economic cooperation with foreign countries and opened the door to foreign investment.
