Donald Tsang, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), has been invited by the central government to lead a delegation to Beijing for the National Day celebration, the HKSAR government said in a statement Friday.

Tsang will leave on Sept. 27 to call on central government officials, while the delegation, comprising members from various sectors of the community, will depart on Sept. 30, said the statement.

They will attend celebration events including the National Day reception, the military parade and cultural performances.
