Administrative Procedure Law

Apr 4, 1989

The promulgation of the Administrative Procedure Law established the right of ordinary people to sue officials, stressed clean government, and established safeguards for the civil rights of the people, demonstrating the gradual advance of China’s legislation.
Sino-Foreign Joint Venture Enterprise Law
Promulgated on Jul 1, 1979 / Revised on Mar 15, 2001
Formally enforced on July 8, 1979, the Sino-Foreign Joint Venture Enterprise Law was China’s first law covering overseas economic relations, and also the first corporate legislation relating to foreign funding since the beginning of reform and opening-up.
Criminal Law
Promulgated on Jul 1, 1979 (abolished on October 1, 1997) / Revised on Mar 14, 1997/Jun 29, 2006
In the past 60 years, China has promulgated two criminal codes; the first in 1979 and the second, replacing the first, in 1997.
Marriage Law
Promulgated on May 1, 1950 (abolished on January 1, 1981) / Revised on Sept 10, 1980 and Apr 28, 2001
The Marriage Law of 1950 was the first basic law promulgated after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
