China will work together with other countries for a peaceful and prosperous world, the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said in a communique Tuesday.

The committee concluded its four-day plenary session after drawing a roadmap for the country's economic and social development in the next five years.

China will steadfastly adhere to the path of peaceful development -- it will strive for a peaceful international environment to facilitate its developmpent, and in turn promote world peace through its own development, the communique of the plenum says.

China's development mainly depend on itself. Meanwhile, China will persist in opening up to the rest of the world and mutual-beneficial cooperation and work together with other countries for a harmonious world with lasting peace and common prosperity, the communique says.
