Senior Party leader Xi Jinping explained to the Presidium the candidates for the State's top positions, including president, top lawmaker and premier.

Presided by Wu Bangguo, Presidium executive chairman, the candidate namelist was decided on Wednesday for the NPC Standing Committee chairperson, vice-chairpersons, secretary-general and members of the NPC Standing Committee, as well as that of president and vice-president of the People's Republic of China and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC.

The names will be handed by the Presidium to NPC delegations for discussion and consultation.

It was also agreed at the meeting to submit the draft resolution on the work report of the NPC Standing Committee for deliberations at all delegations.
