China appoints new banking regulator, other senior officials

The State Council announced Monday key appointments at the China Banking Regulatory Commission and other cabinet departments.

Fu Shuangjian was appointed Vice Director of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC), replacing Li Dongsheng.

Lu Zhongyuan replaced Sun Xiaoyu as Vice Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC).

Wang Zhaoxing was appointed Vice Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission.

Sun Xiaoxi and Li Keping were appointed Vice Chairmen of the National Council for the Social Security Fund.

The State Council also dismissed Hui Lusheng as Vice Director of the State Food and Drug Administration, and Chen Quanxun as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Key Large-Sized State-Owned Enterprises.
