President appoints new ambassadors

President Hu Jintao has appointed seven new ambassadors in accordance with the decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.

Wang Wangsheng was appointed ambassador to the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, replacing Huang Jiemin.

Huang Jiemin was appointed ambassador to the State of Kuwait, replacing Wu Jiuhong.

Gu Xiaojie was appointed ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, replacing Lin Lin.

Lin Songtian was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Malawi.

Chen Jianfu was appointed ambassador to the Slovak Republic, replacing Huang Zhongpo.

Huang Zhongpo was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Estonia, replacing Xie Junping

Lan Lijun was appointed ambassador to Canada, replacing Lu Shumin.
