State Councilor Urges Overseas Chinese Against 'Taiwan Secessionists'
Adjust font size:

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan on Friday called on compatriots from home and abroad to stand firmly against the secessionist activities of Taiwan leader Chen Shui-bian.

Tang made the remarks when he met visiting delegates of the Chinese American Alliance for China's Peaceful Reunification in the United States of America.

Tang said Chen Shui-bian's conspiracy of seeking "de jure Taiwan independence" through so-called "constitutional reform" is getting more dangerous now.

Tang hoped overseas Chinese as well as compatriots across the Taiwan Strait to "hold on to the theme of peaceful development of cross-Strait relations and firmly stand against the Taiwan regime's secessionist activities."
