State Council appoints senior officials

State Council, or cabinet, Tuesday appointed three of its vice secretaries-general, a vice-minister of finance and a deputy director of its Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office.

The new vice secretaries-general of the State Council are Wang Yong, Qiu Xiaoxiong and Bi Jingquan, according to a statement issued by the State Council.

Meanwhile, the cabinet ended Bi's post as vice-minister of the State Development and Reform Commission, Wang's post as deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and Qiu's post as deputy director of Research Office of the State Council.

Ding Xuedong was appointed to be vice-minister of finance and Hua Jian replaced Chen Zuo'er as deputy director of the State Council's Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office.
