State Council appoints 6 senior officials

China's State Council (cabinet) on Monday announced the appointment of six senior officials.

Zhang Laiwu and Du Zhanyuan were appointed vice ministers of science and technology, Zhao Shaohua, a woman, vice minister of culture, Liu Pingjun deputy head of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, Chen Qiufa head of the Atomic Energy Authority, and Ji Zhengkun head of the Standardization Administration.

Meanwhile, the State Council ended Shang Yong's term as vice minister of science and technology, Meng Xiaosi's term as vice minister of culture, Tong Anyan's term as chairman of the board of supervisors for key large state-owned enterprises, Sun Qin's term as head of the Atomic Energy Authority and Liu Pingjun's term as head of the Standardization Administration.
