Drunk driving deaths climb

Drunk drivers were responsible for nearly 60 percent of fatalities caused by traffic accidents on local elevated roads so far this year, traffic police reported today.

Police would not provide detailed figures, however.

During the first 11 months of this year, both the numbers of drunk driving-related accidents on elevated roads and the fatalities they caused increased by about 50 percent from the whole on last year, traffic police said.
