Qin Guangrong re-elected governor of Yunnan

Qin Guangrong was re-elected governor of southwest China's Yunnan Province and Bai Enpei top provincial legislator at a session of the provincial legislature on Thursday.

Qin, born in 1950 in central Hunan Province, has been the provincial governor since January 2007.

The provincial governor is head of the provincial government responsible for the economic, political, personnel, environmental and foreign affairs issues of the province. He ranks second in the province behind the provincial Communist Party Secretary.

Bai, born 1946 in northwestern Shaanxi Province, is also the Communist Party chief of Yunnan.
