Adjust font size:

Sichuan will finish rebuilding quake-hit farmhouses by the end of this year, the Sichuan Post-quake House Reconstruction Conference announced Thursday, chinanews.com.cn reported Thursday.

The rebuilding of farmhouses has been the primary reconstruction task, vice governor of Sichuan province Huang Yanrong said at the conference.

At the end of August, 1,187,900 out of 1,260,000 farmhouses had been rebuilt.

The devastating Wenchuan quake that hit last May left nearly 87,000 people dead or missing.
