New Ambassador Presents Credentials to Cambodian King

Zhang Jinfeng, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Thursday presented her credentials to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni at the Royal Palace.

 

Sihamoni expressed his warm welcome to Zhang. He also thanked the Chinese government for its long-time support and assistance offered to Cambodia's peace, stability and reconstruction.

 

He said he will continue to consolidate and develop the profound friendship between the two countries, which was nursed and built by his farther and old generations of Chinese leaders.

 

Zhang said that she will do her best to further strengthen the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia, and push forward the relations of mutual benefit and cooperation between the two countries to a new high level.

 

Zhang said the Chinese government will continue to support the efforts made by Cambodia in maintaining the nation's sovereignty, independence and territory integrity, and also the efforts to consolidate national unity and to develop economy.

 

Zhang also conveyed greetings from President Hu Jintao to Sihamoni.

 

Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong also attended the credentials hand-over ceremony.

 

Zhang arrived in Cambodia on January 13.
