Premier Wen's current visit is the first visit by a Chinese premier to a South Pacific island country.

During his visit here, Premier Wen met with Fijian President Josefa Iloilo and held talks with his Fijian counterpart Laisenia Qarase on bilateral ties.

On Wednesday morning, Premier Wen delivered a keynote speech titled "Win-win Cooperation for Common Development" at the opening of the First Ministerial Conference of the China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum.
