The Asia and Pacific countries should beef up regional cooperation and make concerted efforts to improve their infrastructure development, said Cui Tiankai in Jakarta on Monday, who headed the Chinese delegation to the United Nations Economy and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) meeting.

Work could be done in four ways, which included dialogue enhancement and experience exchange, platform establishment and cooperation between government and enterprise, channels development and income rise, as well as policy coordination and network connection, said Cui.

In addition, he introduced to the delegates China's 11th five-year program for national economy and social development, which featured science, harmony and coordination, as well as further improvement of people's quality of life and more opportunities for all the countries in the world.

While improving its own development, China pursued mutual benefit and win-win outcome and strived for global and regional cooperation in order to realize common prosperity of all the countries in the world, he added.

The UNESCAP's 62nd session is held here from April 6 to 12 with its major topic as "Enhancing Cooperation in Infrastructure Development, including that Related with Disaster Management."
