Kyrgyz President Starts China Visit
Adjust font size:

Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev arrived in Beijing Friday afternoon for a two-day state visit.

This is Bakiyev's first visit to China since he assumed the post in 2005.

During his stay in Beijing, Bakiyev will hold talks with President Hu Jintao, and meet with top legislator Wu Bangguo, Premier Wen Jiabao and other senior officials.

Bakiyev is scheduled to address the China-Kyrgyzstan economic and trade forum on Saturday.

Before his departure, Bakiyev said he was satisfied with the current constructive and mutually trustful relations with China.

He hoped the two nations can deepen their long-term, stable and mutually beneficial partnership.

China and Kyrgyzstan, which share a borderline of more than 1,000 kilometers, established diplomatic ties in 1992.
