Hu Congratulates Putin on Russian National Day

Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a congratulatory message on Monday to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of Russia's National Day.

 

Hu said in the message that, under the leadership of President Putin, Russia is enjoying political stability, rapid economic growth and growing national strength and has played an important role in international and regional affairs.

 

"The Chinese people are heartily glad to see the achievements the Russian people have made in the cause of national construction," the Chinese leader said.

 

The China-Russia strategic partnership of cooperation has kept a healthy and vigorous momentum of development since its establishment 10 years ago, Hu said, adding that political mutual trust has been intensified and bilateral cooperation in various fields are fruitful.

 

He also said China and Russia maintain close coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs and have made important contributions to safeguarding world peace and stability and promoting common development.

 

"I believe that the China-Russia strategic partnership of cooperation will see better development with the joint efforts of both sides," said Hu.
