China, N. Korea Mark 45th Anniversary of Friendship Treaty

Leaders of China and North Korea exchanged congratulatory messages today on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance Between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

 

President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Premier Wen Jiabao respectively exchanged congratulations with North Korea's top leader and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Worker's Party of Korea Kim Jong-il, top legislator Kim Yong-nam and Premier Pak Bong-ju, speaking highly of the development of the bilateral relations.

 

Leaders of the two sides agreed that to consolidate and develop the China-North Korea friendship has been the firm stand of the two governments and the two parties.

 

The two countries will further increase exchanges, strengthen cooperation and push forward the bilateral friendly cooperative ties, the leaders said in their messages.
