Adjust font size:

Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held talks with his Mozambican counterpart Alcinda Abreu in Beijing on Wednesday, vowing to promote bilateral friendly and cooperative ties.

Li said he hoped to strengthen high-level exchanges, expand economic and trade cooperation, and enhance cultural exchanges with the Mozambican side.

While applauding bilateral traditional friendship, Li praised Mozambique's continuous friendly policy towards China since its new government was formed last year, stressing he appreciated Mozambique's persistence to the one-China principle

Abreu said he hoped to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields, including infrastructure, rural area development, science and technology, so as to benefit the two peoples.

Abreu pledged that his new government will, as always, adhere to the one-China policy and support China's reunification.

The two sides also discussed preparations for the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, which is scheduled to be held in Beijing in November, and some international and regional issues.

Abreu arrived here Tuesday for a visit to China from August 15 to 20, as Li's guest.
