China, Sudan Friendly Cooperation Developing Smoothly

The friendly cooperation and relations between China and Sudan has been developing smoothly, said Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Beijing on Wednesday.

 

Li made the remark when holding talks with Sudanese Assistant President Nafie Ali Nafie.

 

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishing of diplomatic relations between China and Africa. Li said though international situation has changed a lot since almost half a century ago, the two peoples have always understood and supported each other.

 

China-Sudan traditional friendship has been continuously consolidated and bilateral friendly cooperation in various fields has developed very smoothly, said Li.

 

On Darfur's problem, Li said China supports the implementation of related peace agreements and is willing to make joint efforts with the international community to promote the early settlement of the problem on the basis of considering concerns of related parties and with a reliable and practical attitude.

 

Nafie said the Sudanese government cherishes the deep traditional friendship with China and is willing to further deepens cooperation with China in various fields and strengthen mutual consultation in international and regional issues.

 

According to sources with the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Nafie is here for a five-day visit to China and he will also meet Vice President Zeng Qinghong.
