Adjust font size:

Deputy Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo and his Japanese counterpart Shotaro Yachi concluded the sixth round of China-Japan strategic dialogue in Tokyo on Tuesday.

During the dialogue, which was held on September 23-26, both sides expressed the willingness to improve and develop the China-Japan relationship, and deeply exchanged views on how to clear up the political obstacles to the development of bilateral relations, according to a statement released by the Chinese Embassy in Japan.

The two sides agreed to continue the dialogue, the statement added.

During his stay in Japan, Dai also met with some Japanese politicians, including Foreign Minister Taro Aso, House of Representatives Speaker Yohei Kono, and Secretary-General of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party Hidenao Nakagawa.

China and Japan held the previous five rounds of strategic dialogue in May, June and October last year, and February and May this year.
