China's Consulate General in Indonesia's Surabaya Opens

China's Consulate General in Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia, opened on Thursday and it will officially commence its activities on November 10.

 

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the general consulate, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lan Lijun said that the main goal of the consulate is to promote trade and cultural ties between China and Indonesia and provide consular services.

 

Another major factor for opening the consulate is because of growing exchange of travelers and entrepreneurs between the two countries, he added.

 

Fu Shuigen, Consul General of the Surabaya Consulate General said at the same occasion that the China's Consulate General in Surabaya will work hard for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially the ties between eastern area of Indonesia with China.

 

The office of the Chinese Consulate General starts its work from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. local time from Monday to Friday.
