Top legislator Wu Bangguo met in Beijing Thursday with Indonesian Vice President Yusuf Kalla.

Wu said the economies of China and Indonesia complement each other and have great potential for cooperation. He said that the stepping up of mutually-beneficial cooperation would serve the interests of both countries and help push forward China's relations with ASEAN countries.

The parliamentary cooperation between China and Indonesia has achieved good results, Wu noted. He hoped the bilateral friendly exchanges could maintain good momentum in order to achieve a comprehensive development of bilateral ties.

Yusuf Kalla said Indonesia closely follows China's development and is particularly interested in China's experience in development of agriculture, water conservation and infrastructure construction.

Yusuf Kalla arrived in Beijing on Wednesday night, starting his five-day official visit to China which will also take him to southwest China's Sichuan Province and central China's Hubei Province.
