Yang also expressed appreciation for the Philippine government's adherence to the one-China policy.

omulo said the relations between the Philippines and China have developed smoothly and their cooperation expanded. The frequent meetings between their leaders play an important role in improving the relationship.

He said the Philippines will make joint effort with China to contribute to regional peace, development and prosperity.

The two sides also exchanged views on the regional forum of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and other issues of common concern.
