Mongolian Leaders Meet Chinese FM

Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Prime Minister Miegombyn Enkhbold and Chairman of Parliament Danzan Lundeejantsan on Monday morning met separately with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

 

In his meeting with Yang, Enkhbayar said that the friendly cooperative relations in various fields is developing rapidly between Mongolia and China recently, with Mongolia attaching importance to boosting the cooperation of mutual benefit in the fields of resources and infrastructure.

 

"Mongolia hopes to strengthen the two countries' cooperation in the regions of central Asia, northeast Asia and over other international issues," the president said.

 

Yang said China attaches importance to Mongolia's role in regional cooperation, supporting Mongolia to participate in the multilateral cooperation mechanism in northeast Asia.

 

Enkhbold, in his meeting with Yang, said that China is the biggest trade partner and investor to Mongolia in recent years, expressing his belief that the ongoing economic cooperation between the two countries will surely promote Mongolia's socio-economic development.

 

Lundeejantsan said that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China and the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legitimate government of China. He reiterated that Mongolia would adhere to the one-China policy.

 

Yang said China would steadfastly respect Mongolia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, making efforts to expand cooperation of trade and economy between the two countries.

 

Yang arrived in Ulan Bator Saturday morning on a three-day visit to Mongolia.
