Austria pledges firm adherence to one-China policy

Austrian President Heinz Fischer said Tuesday his country will stick to the one-China policy and expressed willingness to work with China in deepening bilateral cooperation.

 

Fischer, meeting the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Austria Wu Ken, praised the strong foundation of Austria-China relations, saying there exists a partnership of mutual trust between the two countries.

 

Wu, who presented his credentials to the Austrian president, said bilateral exchanges and cooperation had consistently progressed since China and Austria forged diplomatic relations.

 

He pledged more efforts to improve China-Austrian relations.
