Chinese State Councilor starts working visit to US

Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo left Beijing for a working visit to the United States on Wednesday, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Dai, at the invitation of the US government, will co-chair the sixth strategic dialogue with US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte during his tour.

The fifth Sino-US strategic dialogue was held in China in January 2008. The two sides agreed to hold the sixth dialogue within this year in the United States.

The China-US Strategic Dialogue was launched in August 2005 in accordance with the consensus of the two heads of state.
