Adjust font size:

Chinese military forces, back from a joint anti-terror military training with their Indian counterparts, arrived in Kunming, southwest China's Yunnan Province on early Monday morning.

A total of 137 Chinese soldiers arrived in Kunming in two Il 76 airlifters at about 1 a.m. Monday, after concluding the China-India anti-terror exercise from December 6 to 12.

The seven-day training, code-named "Hand-in-Hand 2008", included a weapons and equipment demonstration, tactical communication, and a comprehensive training exercise in south India's Belgaum District.

The joint training was carried out according to the Memorandum of Understanding for Exchanges and Cooperation in the Field of Defense signed in 2006.

The joint training is intended to enhance mutual understanding and trust and advance the development of relations between the Chinese and Indian armies.
