54 people die in New Year's celebrations in Colombia

New Year celebrations had killed 54 people and injured 112 others in Colombia, police said on Thursday.

The figures mark a drop of 17 percent and 68 percent compared with last year, when 65 were killed and 349 injured.

Meanwhile, over 2,000 guns and other weapons and more than 71,000 bottles of alcohols were seized during New Year celebrations.
