Visiting Ukrainian Defence Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov praised China on Tuesday for its great peacekeeping efforts under the UN Security Council's resolution.

"Ukraine appreciates China's amazing achievements since it was founded in 1949," said Yekhanurov during a talk with Chinese Defence Minister Liang Guanglie.

He said Ukraine firmly adhered to the one-China policy and highly appreciated China's outstanding peacekeeping work under the UN.

Liang spoke highly of China-Ukraine military cooperation, saying China was willing to work with Ukraine to push forward the comprehensive development of bilateral ties on equality, mutual trust and mutual respect.

The two sides also pledged to maintain and enhance military cooperation as an important part of the bilateral relations.
