Maintaining peace on Korean Peninsula beneficial to all
Adjust font size:

China said Thursday that maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula is beneficial to both sides on the peninsula.

"We have stated our stance clearly, and we believe relevant sides could realize that maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula tally with the common interest of the two sides," Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Jiang Yu said at a regular press conference.

Jiang made the remarks in response to a reporter's question on China's stance over the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) statement, declaring the abolition of all Inter-Korean political and military agreements meant for reconciliation and cooperation.

Jiang reiterated that, as a neighbor of the peninsula, China has always supported the two sides to improve relations through dialogue and promote reconciliation and cooperation.

On Jan. 30, the DPRK issued a statement, declaring the abolition of all political and military agreements with the Republic of Korea meant for reconciliation and cooperation.
