Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles will make an official visit to Brazil on March 11-15, the British embassy announced Friday.

The couple will visit four cities in the Amazon Rainforest region, including Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Manaus and Santarem.

It will be Prince Charles' fourth official visit to Brazil after three trips to the country in 1978, 1991 and 2002. After visiting Brazil, the couple will travel to Chile and Ecuador.

The visit will focus on sustainable development and climate changes. During the visit, the prince will hold a meeting with British and Brazilian business leaders.

The British ambassador to Brazil, Alan Charlton, released a statement in which he affirmed that the climate change is one of the British government's highest foreign policy priorities.

Brazil and Britain consider each other as "natural partners" on climate issues, Charlton said.

"We share the same values and we work together in the fight against this global problem. The prince's visit will help strengthen this partnership further," he added.
