China wishes stability and development in Pakistan
Adjust font size:

China wishes that Pakistan will maintain political stability and economic development, which accords with the fundamental interest of the country, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang Tuesday.

"Stability and development in Pakistan also works for peace and stability in south Asia and the world," Qin said.

Qin made the remarks in response to a reporter's question on the reinstatement of Pakistani Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry', a decision announced by Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani Monday morning as a way to end political turmoil in the country.

"We have noted the latest development in Pakistan. As a friendly neighbor, China sincerely wishes political stability and economic development in Pakistan," Qin told a regular press briefing in Beijing.
