Taliban claims responsibility for attacks in Pakistan

Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud has claimed responsibility for the attack on a police training school in Lahore on Monday, private Geo NEWS TV channel reported on Tuesday.

Baitullah Mehsud, leader of the banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) confirmed that his group conducted the attack but did not give details, said the report.

The Interior Advisor Rehman Malik on Monday said at a press conference that fighters loyal to Baitullah Mehsud might get involved in the attack on Manawan Police Training School in Lahore, capital city of eastern Punjab province.

At least 25 people were killed and over 100 others injured when gunmen attacked a police training school on Monday.
