Adjust font size:

China is willing to make joint efforts with Brazil to boost bilateral strategic partnership, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said in Brasilia Wednesday.

Liu Yunshan, member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and head of the CPC Central Committee Publicity Department, made the remarks when meeting with Brazil's acting president Jose Alencar Gomez da Silva.

Liu said China-Brazil relations have experienced rapid development since the establishment of bilateral strategic partnership in 1993.

China and Brazil have maintained high-level contacts and increased political trust, he said.

Under the current international situation, China hopes to join hands with the Brazilian side to promote bilateral strategic partnership, said Liu.

Alencar said the Brazilian government and people have been closely following China's development and bilateral cooperation in such fields as energy, agriculture and science and technology enjoys broad prospects.

Brazil wants to further strengthen friendly relations with China, and enhance mutual understanding and bilateral relations, said Alencar.

Liu arrived here Wednesday after concluding his goodwill visit to Chile.
