China condemns bombings in Indonesia
Adjust font size:

China's government on Tuesday strongly condemned the bomb attacks at two hotels in Jakarta, Indonesia, on July 17.

"China strongly condemns and firmly opposes terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang in a press release.

Qin's remarks came in response to a question on China's comments on the Jakarta bomb attacks.

Two explosions occurred at the Ritz Carlton and JW Marriott hotels in Jakarta on Friday morning, killing nine people and wounding more than 50.

Qin also noted that China believed the Indonesian government would take effective actions to properly investigate the attacks.

After the July 17 bomb attacks, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi sent a message of sympathy to Indonesian counterpart Hassan Wirayuda.
